How to maximize your survey Opportunities and Get More surveys!

Ever since the introduction of Opinion Space in Kenya back in 2016, one of the main problems our panelists seem to have is limited survey opportunities. So this article will outline the 5 key steps that you need to take if you feel that your survey invites are too few.

PREFACE

Before I introduce you to the 5 steps, first let me give you a brief explanation of how the survey engine works. The key fact being that survey invitations are sent out using artificial intelligence that selects you for a survey based on how well you are matched to that particular survey. This is done using a profiling system first then a points system second. First, lets talk about Profiling.

A. Profiling

Every panelist has a default profiling system configured in their account in form of closed choice questions. Your response to these questions helps decide if a survey is suitable for you or not. For example, if you have a male profile, you wont receive survey invites on feminine issues. And if you presently own a Mercedes no one will ask you when you bought your current Probox etc. When a survey is sent out, it targets specific people who meet specific criteria which means the more info the AI has on you, the more goodies you get. An incomplete profile is given last priority and only invited after all full profiles have been given a chance at the survey.  This is a 50% decrease in your odds if your profile is not filled up.  The idea is to ensure that you only receive studies that are relevant to you. So since real life circumstances change, we recommend you revise your profile at least twice a year too.

B. Point System.

Now this is the main secret that few of our panelists know. Its the reason why 5% of our panelists have made withdrawals 50+ times while more than 30% are still struggling hit their first threshold. If you are among the latter 30%, then read on and change your luck. Here is how the points system works.

When you signed up as a new panelist you receive the top rating of 100% for free. What you do afterwards determines if you stay there or fall down the ranks. The points are used to decide how likely you are to respond to a study, and since the system by default wants to close every study at the earliest, it will prioritize and invite higher scoring people first because of their responsiveness which makes them attractive. So if everything else stays the same, a person with 99 points gets invited first before the other guy with 80 points. If the active guys respond fast enough the slow guys may not even be invited at all. Still even people with 10 points get invited to surveys it only happens based on availability. So here is how you earn or lose points.

i} You are invited: [Response]-You open invite & participate and [Effect]- gain 1 point or stay at highest rating if already there.

ii} You are invited: [Response]-You open invite and decline the survey coz you are busy[Effect]- gain 1 point or stay at highest rating if already there.

iii} You are invited: [Response]-You click on the survey but don’t bother after that. [Effect]- lose no point & stay at your current rating.

iv} You are invited: [Response]-You don’t do anything. [Effect] You lose one responsiveness point each time this happens until you are at zero where your account is automatically classified dormant. This may take quite some time since the lower you drop the less the invites directed to you.

v} Finally, if you go for 12 months straight without Logging into your account, clicking on any survey invite or even opening system emails, you will be classified as an inactive user and removed from the invite list.

NB: IF YOU HAVEN’T RESPONDED YET TO A SURVEY THAT IS STILL ACTIVE, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANOTHER INVITATION UNTIL THAT SURVEY IS CLOSED IN THE SYSTEM. THIS CAN TAKE WEEKS OR EVEN MONTHS AND YOUR PROFILE WILL STAY ENGAGED FOR THAT LONG!

So here’s what you need to do to keep them surveys coming.

  1. Complete your profile 100%.
  2. Revise your profile at least once every six months.
  3. Respond to EVERY survey you are invited to.
  4. Respond to invites As Soon As you get them if possible. Most surveys take less than 20 minutes so use your tea or lunch break while you eat. Remember surveys are availed on a first come first serve basis.
  5. If you know you cant attempt a survey within 48hrs, DECLINE. Immediately your profile will be availed for the next survey opportunity doing rounds. You can also do this to reject low-payout surveys if you dont like them. Its your right.

That’s it folks, follow these 5 commandments of  online surveys and your inbox will be very busy.
